1. Introduction

- Newsletter signup. If you sign up for the Belly Weekly newsletter, we receive your email address. The form asks for nothing else. See "Our newsletter" below.
The site has no user accounts, and the newsletter signup is its only form. It does not ask for passwords or payment details.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. When your browser loads a page, the company that hosts the site records standard technical details: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. These logs are used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Analytics.Google Analytics 4 records how the site is used, such as the pages you view. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Deliver the site and keep it secure
- Reply to emails you send us
- Understand which pages people read, so we can improve the site
- Send the Belly Weekly newsletter to people who confirmed their signup
- Meet our legal obligations
4. Data retention
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete them.
- Your newsletter address stays on our list until you unsubscribe. After that we keep a record that you unsubscribed, so we do not email you again.
- Server logs, and any data collected by the other services named in this policy, are kept by those providers under their own retention rules.
5. Data security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
No way of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you think something is wrong, write to [email protected].
6. Third-party services
We use the services below to run the site. Each has its own privacy policy, which applies to the information it handles.
- Hosting. Our hosting provider delivers the site's pages and keeps the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts. The site's typefaces load from Google's servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when it fetches them.
- Google Analytics 4(Google): visitor analytics, described under "Cookies and analytics".
- Cloudflare Turnstile, Amazon Web Services and Make.com: the newsletter signup and the newsletter itself, described below.
- Fourthwall: our store, described below.
Our newsletter
If you sign up for the Belly Weekly newsletter:
- The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. To do this, Cloudflare checks information about your browser and device.
- We send one email to confirm your address. Your address joins the list only after you click the link in that email.
- We keep your email address, the dates you signed up and confirmed, the page you signed up from, and whether you are still subscribed. The list is kept in a Google Sheet and updated through Make.com.
- The emails are sent through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which also tells us when an email bounces or is reported as spam. Links in the newsletter carry a tag so our analytics can tell that a visit came from the email.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click takes you off the list.
- We never sell your email address or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Our store
Our store runs on Fourthwall. When you buy something, you check out on Fourthwall's site, and Fourthwall handles your payment, your order and its delivery under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.
